About Us

Early days at home with "Kaiwanna Park".......the three stallions at the time..... in 1975  2 Arabians where purchased, one from Dalveen Gregory, and the Pony Takarri Simba from Elliot Wholing

In 1990 the 3 yo Pure Caste had ran her last race and came 3rd at the Port Lincoln Race track and eager to purchase her, took a bit of luck, but  the following day saw the sale to Tanya Dudley, of her, where she came to the stables and was  thoroughly adored by all, including drive by onlookers. I saw the black filly when she was first 14 months and kept an eye on her closely, as I rode track work where she was stabled in the same block. After the purchase, I started riding the then tiny fine 3yo filly, and her nature was beautiful, a couple of hiccups like all thoroughbreds but generally lovely and soft. Cindy reacted to loud bangs, I gathered from the starting gates, building up her anxieties waiting for the gates to open.. A year later I offered her to Chris and Vicki Lawrie whilst at her first show, where she won her class, and knowing they could do this mare so much justice which I couldn't offer, she left with them that day!.

The rest is history, the mare was awarded in 3 years 3 Nationals, Grand National Sydney Melbourne Adelaide Royal Champions Crane Trophy and many more prestigious Galloway events an unbeaten record in those 3 years with Chris and Vicki. Kym Aaron and I were there at her last ever show which was the Nationals and her music to her last ever appearance was to " Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head" where she was awarded National Galloway for the 3rd consecutive year and being her last, the announcement was made, this was an emotional event for a lot of her connections and with her deserving lap of honour, with a standing ovation, Cindy showed of her amazing lengthening. Kym and I brought her home to where we were then living in NSW where Cindy was let down for a year, preparing for becoming a mother. Cindy lost her first foal due to error and lost her second. Pure Class was her next natural birth, who sired a couple of youngsters before being gelded and sold to Lisa Ford in NSW. Next came WW High Caste and WW Sophisticaste both ETs . Sophisticaste left us as a two yo and we consequently bought her back from the Klantes, Wesswoods. Then we bred WW Caste a Spell who was a natural birth. We nurtured Spell until a rising 3 yo collected from him, then  sold him to Carmen Gridley in the UK for a Saddle animal. Cindy now resides in WA. with the Klantes.

Also at the Port Lincoln races Tanya found another nice horse Common Prayer who stood 16 hh( who ran dead last this day ) who was entire, who also came to NSW with us. AKA Chief was Supreme Led Exhibit of All Breeds at the Port Lincoln ABS  whilst there and Supreme Led Thoroughbred at Dubbo Show in NSW. Chief is the sire of WW Bizzy Lizzy 13.2

After 9 years with the mining Industry in out back NSW and breeding the Wesswood horses with Julie and Malcolm Klante, we moved to Perth with 35 horses and everything else that mattered. Wesswood now resided in WA on the beautiful irrigated Byford property of 10 acres. With the same company still for another couple of years saw another change with another company, this time with a Melbourne firm. After 6 years in Perth ( we allowed 10 )we now have moved to SA in the Clare Valley. Leaving Perth's amazing weather (until you live there you don't realize how even it is) and the fantastic people with the awesome laid back attitudes. The showing is also the best! Perth is definitely missed.

Brittney and her friends at home                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Moving now to SA, we chose Clare, being  closer to family on the West Coast and friends and family in and around Adelaide. With the move came another change and a new stud name " WHISTLEJACKETS"  also with this came new partners, Karl and Carman Gridley from the UK. "WhistleJackets" will continue to breed quality saddle animals with the reputable handling they get which makes these horses easy to deal with.  Another is to be exported in the near future.

With Kym and myself, along with the Dudley Children, Brittney Rivah and Cruise,  we have added to the population of Clare. Clare being a tourist town and of course has some of the finest vineyards and wineries' around. Also not far from Clare is the renowned Willowcroft Stud at Brinkworth, the most amazingly run stud in Australia and well worth a visit, and in Burra is Julie Lloyds' Braefoot Park Riding Ponies and of course, not far, The "Barossa Valley" where McLeod's' Daughters is filmed which also boast the finest Vineyards and land.
