AKA Marley was a superstar at the W.A Arabian Trilogy over the weekend - sashed overall Champion Arabian Riding Pony exhibit in halter and won his stallion ridden class but the highlight of the weekend was the West Coast Challenge Cup judged as a show horse event against 20 of the State’s best show horses - a big ask for his first show under saddle and he was a star going around on the ring indoors with mares and geldings and not missing a beat - he had to complete an individual workout indoors under lights with decorations galore and lots in the crowd and he looked and performed awesome and just floated around the Indoor, he was called forward firstly to Top 5. Bevanlee Folklore and Chrissy Lambert were announced as reserve and then Marley and Richard were called forward as the winner of the prestigious event. Marley was amazing! I think Spell would be proud of his boy…….

Claire owned the small Galloway "Gordon Park Masquerade" before he headed east from W.A and his results spoke for the amazing work Claire puts in, securing many major wins with him before being sold.... Marley was born just before we left for SA and pleaded at the time not to geld this boy, his movement was extraordinary for a newborn... Now 5 years later and over 14.1 with 3 rego's this beautiful boy ABOVE is almost on his way. Marley is by Wesswood Caste A Spell exp UK out of Wesswood Keepsake who Claire bought from the 2001 Wesswood Sale in Perth who also topped the sales. We wish Claire and Richard every success for this beautiful stallion, who I'm sure will leave his presence where ever he goes. Marley's sire, Wesswood Caste A Spell (exp) UK major win, is the UK Winter Ponies Supreme of Show. We look forward to seeing a lot more of him shortly. The only 2 colts born before he left our shores, were Claire's and another, who, unfortunately isn't with us, was Stacey Pickett's colt. We had 5 fillies! .....

This boy is a true hunter RP with a quiet nature, not at all hard to handle. For a 2 yo colt he is very well behaved and is a good example of type temperament and movement to breed on with Hunter Ponies mares. He has good bone and will mature beautifully as a four yo. December, January and now February have been nothing but busy. We decided to put all of our mares in foal last season so I had the excuse to stay home and not go anywhere for Xmas but that backfired, we went to Perth and had a lovely Xmas. The morning we left we had a new born, Jag, the beautiful TB mare had produced a bay filly with a blaze and will be as equally as stunning as WJ Warfinch, her rising 2 yo colt. Leaving that morning was already difficult. On the way home I had a phone call to say we have a new foal but has strange legs, IPhone was in over drive to find out how bad and then we also had a dilemma of a mare who at the time couldn't walk. Vet was on its way and we were still 4 hours away from home....A month later and things have progressed and we have 4 healthy happy foals and mare, also Wicked had caste herself in the stable before we left and did a great job on her back cannon.....just lucky we were there when she had done it, attending to it straight away has left little scarring.
I think this seasons foals are the best we have ever bred, the first one born was sold then and there and he would have to be, the most beautiful black colt with exceptional type and quality we have seen. With a super head and legs that go forever, its going to be hard parting with him. That mating is Miss Riddles X King Joshua. WJ Wicked is passing her time before she takes up a rider and hits the showring. This stunning mare has matured beautifully and we look forward to seeing her out. Her colt is also very breedy and worthy of a colt, very typey, really looking forward to seeing him mature. Then Jag had a very pretty bay filly, again, going to be very nice. WJ Tokyo Rose had a gorgeous filly who is very RP type and is owned by Margie Burrows, another one we don't want to go. Bella calls out to you and canters up for her pats. WJ Doll Baby has given us a real surprise, throwing back to WW Caste A Spell, Exp UK. this filly has long legs and movement that is going to be very eye-catching, along with her beauty. All beautifully marked and super temperaments. Photos coming one day soon.
We would like to Thank Bambi Walker Mathews for letting Cleo come and live with us indefinitely, Cleo has been covered by King Joshua and we eagerly wait for that one. Meanwhile Cleo is used in the school.
During the Xmas holidays we had between 6 and 8 kids daily which kept us out of mischief...Stable duties lunch video ride, some days were so hot they swam their horses in the pond/dam...We also had the pleasure of looking after Granddaughter Amani, and such a delight....Our Post Xmas Party was on the 4th of Feb, late but not so many interruptions, a fantastic night with just the best people. Trophies and pressies were given out in front of the Xmas tree and and lots of food was shared. Thank you all for such a good night...Easter Camp is coming up, in the 2nd week the children go back to school, 3 days, Tues Wed Thurs 2 nights with our Gymkhana on the last day.....Photos up shortly on the Pony Kids page of what's coming up and recent happenings. Congratulations to all 11 riders for all riding so well and all coming home with ribbons and trophies.... at the recent Clare Gymkhana and to the organizers...
To keep the chaos alive we, like a lot of people we are trying to get ready for Grand Nationals, with both girls for their riders and both horses for their opens. With this destructive weather going from hot to cold to hot, its anyone's guess what is coming next...the most noticeable is the hoofs drying out so much and coats springing the odd semi beard and more fluff on the babies...We have clipped for the first time ever, and this time of the year.
We still have a few spaces left for the Horse Dentist, 17 booked in for this Monday 20th coming so if you are interested please let us know asap...Plans are now underway to put in an arena 120 x 60 and this will provide a bigger and better work space etc for schooling jumping bending barrels etc plus safety for the children moving on to a bigger area...

3 day old Galloway Colt out of WJ Wicked by WW King Joshua
Friday 16th of December was our last lessons for the year and last get together BBQ for the year also, so, as it was winding up at 8.30pm we wandered down to check Wicked as she now has candles and a very complexed look on her face, while we all inspected her and leaving thinking it will be tonight we all went our separate ways..... knowing the 10pm run is always a good time to check I couldn't even wake until the phone rang at midnight, "You have a Baby"'...... Brittney on watch....Wicked finally has had her baby a bay brown colt with a nice star and no white socks. I think a breedy little fellow. After finally getting sorted at 2am we went to bed. During the day Wicked had attacks and violently threw herself around and casting her self 4 times and one time cutting her back leg. Wicked is by WW Caste A Spell who is by King Joshua who is also the sire of the new addition.

King Joshua had a hosing to cool off and the marine ply was reflective when wet, the next 10 minutes until mirror mirror on the wall dried up, kept himself amused by his own reflection.

Champions of Champions was our first time and enjoyed the people and lovely atmosphere and Skyworks AKA Sultan, has now qualified for Sydney Grand Nationals along with WW In Vogue and both girls for their Rider Classes. Rivah going Champ rider and Britt Reserve, Skyworks Reserve Hack and WW In Vogue who works the best I have ever seen Reserve. Cassie Riding Sky also for her rider. All now enjoying a small well earned break.
A rainy day means a camera and Brittney....We are waiting for WJ Tokyo Rose to foal early in the new year and then cover her with Warfinch. The resultant foal to Warfinch will be for sale.
Wesswood High Caste also will be covered to Warfinch next season and is currently ridden in the school
Jo Hunts typey boy, 8 months old by King Joshua is the most laid back kid, Beau has the most beautiful movement and will look forward to seeing him out

One delightful lead rein under 12 has arrived to be listed shortly. This pony is a bay gelding 2 long hind socks and has the most awesome length of rein for a welshy. He has been in hand for 5 shows and taken 2 supreme's 3 champions and a reserve. Interest welcome.
8 days on the road and 5 of showing was nothing but a lot of fun, after SHC we headed to EA HOTY tues night and stayed until sat morning and everything packed except the kitchen sink. We then headed to Kapunda Show to get a couple of aggie points and headed home. SA EA HOTY was nothing but well run and spectacular, the grounds were superior and beautifully laid out. Our first class was the Graduate Garland Hack which Sky won a lovely Rags for Nags Rug and the rider class both girls were in, Rivah riding super and then Vogue decided on the 3rd serpentine to leave the ring but manage to still get 6th! and Britt picking up the wrong canter lead to receive a 4th, so we were happy with that! Vogue went on to being runner up Hunter and not missing out, another quality Rags for Nags rug, after Rivah rode a safe workout. Wesswood Lets Twist did a magnificent workout to claim the runner up small Galloway and looked a treat, well done Naomi. Whistlejackets Spell worked safe also and placed 4th in her large Galloway. Whistlejackets Kado Mask being very new to the show scene coped very well and placed what I could see. At the Kapunda show both horses did well with Skyworks being sashed supreme in both rings and Vogue supreme Hunter and Vogue taking the Grand Supreme. This time a year ago Skyworks was a mighty challenge heading sideways and backwards hitting a car and breaking free a horse, Saturday he was well behaved until the end he decided he liked to still fly! Well done Brittney and Rivah Naomi Shauna and Breanna...
2011 HOTY has now been and gone and results were good, with both the girls qualifying for their riders and WW In Vogue for her Hunter Galloway, WW Lets Twist who looked fabulous for her Champion Small Galloway and with tears flowing in a private moment between the rider presenter and photographer all for different reasons, it was a happy and sad moment. The trophy is donated by Roz Adams who owned Wesswood Vixen, the trophy carries WW Vixens name, WWs Super Castes and WW Lets Twist for 2011.. Skyworks AKA Sultan, being on the border of sleeping, worked very good , a safe workout and who was happy to stand in line for his 3rd placing. Whistlejackets Kado Mask a small hunter pony under 12.2 also putting in a fantastic effort for such a newy with Breanna Forster being more than capable of knowing exactly how to show off her capabilities of being one of the best riders in the state but knowing just why she does is it is second to none. Biggest Congrats to Angela Forster, recent purchaser of WJ Warlord on winning Supreme Led and Champ rider and Runner Up Small Hack on her Silver Elegance...A big Thank You for the SHC of SA putting on another great show and congratulations to everybody .......

Not that he is very old, infact only a day when someone claimed this boy, Congratulations to Angela Forster in the purchase of Whistlejackets Warlord. Angela and her successful mare "Silver Elegant" took broad sashes from Sydney Royal and Adelaide Royal this year.
